Getting Started
Press the Select button to switch between gameplay modes. When you find a game you like, press the Reset button to begin. You (and a friend, in the two player modes) control a paddle on the edge of the screen. Press up to move the paddle upward, and down to move the paddle downward. When you're ready to serve the ball, press the fire button and it will appear in the center of the screen.
Scoring
In most of the games in Video Olympics, the object is to score goals against your opponent by slipping the ball past their paddle. When the ball comes to you, move the paddle toward it and it will bounce away, toward the other player's side of the screen. You receive a point for every goal you score, and the first player to reach twenty-one points wins the game.
Gameplay Modes
Each game in Video Olympics plays differently. In hockey, for instance, the goals are smaller, making it more difficult to score points. In volleyball, the ball bounces, and if it hits the ground on one player's side of the screen, the other player earns a point. Finally, in basketball, the goal is not to send the ball past your opponent, but to sink it into the nets at the top of the screen.
Tip: Angle Shot
Hit the ball at different angles with your paddle to send it in different directions.
Tip: Simplicity
It all boils down to the original Pong maxim: Avoid Missing Ball for High Score.
