Controls
Press the one player start button to begin the game. After a brief tutorial, you'll assume the role of the Super Spy, viewing the action from behind a pair of clenched fists. Press the punch button to throw punches, and press the kick button to deliver a painful kick to your opponent's midsection. Finally, tap the select button to choose between three different weapons: your bare hands, a combat knife, or a pistol.
Basics
You'll use the controller to move the Super Spy up, down, left, and right. However, not every direction will be available to you at all times -- check the arrows at the top of the screen to determine which directions you can walk. When you're not fighting terrorists, you can also walk through doors or elevators marked with a glowing red arrow and the word “In.” You'll find captive scientists behind these doors, who will restore your health and give you new weapons after they've been rescued.
Lives
The Super Spy begins his mission with ten health points. You'll lose at least one of these points if a terrorist strikes you with his fists or another weapon. Remember, lead pipes and knives do a lot more damage than kicks and punches! When you lose all of your health points, the agent is brought down, and the game is over. Continue your mission by pressing the one player start button. Don't let the terrorists win, the world is counting on you!
Combat
This terrorist force is tough! They're armed with everything from lead pipes to tazers, and they won't stop until they've sent you back to the CIA in a body bag. Fight back with punches and kicks, and defend yourself against their own attacks by pressing down to duck. When the odds are against you, you can even them up with your knife and gun, but you can only use these potent weapons a limited number of times.
Tips: Catch Me If You Can!
Make yourself a hard target by weaving back and forth between your enemies' punches. As you walk by them, smack them with a punch, then move about two inches past them and reverse direction to take another swipe.
Tip: Loaded Barrel
Like in any good spy flick, the barrels in The Super Spy are highly volatile. Shoot them and they'll explode, ending the careers of any terrorists who happen to be standing near them.
