Basics
To defeat your opponent, you must knock him out with your martial-arts moves before time runs out. Move left and right with the directional buttons, press up to jump, and down to duck. If your opponent attacks you, push in the opposite direction to block the blow. The victorious fighter must win two out of three rounds. If time runs out, the fighter with the most energy left wins the match.
Attacks
You’ve got three punches and three kicks to use against your opponent: one weak, one medium strength, and one powerful. The stronger the move, the slower it is, so be careful. Mix up your attacks by delivering them standing, crouching, or jumping in the air to keep your opponent off guard.
Special Moves
Both Ryu and Ken have mastered three special moves: the Fire Ball that flies across the screen, the powerful rising Dragon Punch, and the mighty Hurricane Kick. If you can discover the secret button combinations that trigger these moves, you’ll be unstoppable!
Tip: Hurricane Kick
To use a Hurricane Kick, reverse the directions for a fireball: make a quarter-circle motion away from your opponent, then press a kick button. The harder the kick, the further your spin kick will travel.
Tip: Dragon Punch
To use the mighty Dragon Punch, push the joystick towards your opponent, down, and diagonally down-toward your opponent, then press a punch button. The Dragon Punch will drain a third of your opponent's energy when it hits, and can hit multiple times -- it's possible to KO your opponent in one move if you're lucky.
Tip: Fireball
To throw a fireball, press down to crouch, then roll the directional button in the direction of your opponent (roll right if he's standing to the right, go left if he's to the left). When you're pressing toward your opponent at the end of the motion, press any punch button. The harder the punch, the faster the fireball will travel.
