The Basics
Space Quest V is completely mouse-driven. Use the right mouse button to roll through Roger's various commands (designated by various icons on your pointer), and the left button to take each action. Roll the pointer to the top of the screen in order to reveal the Space Quest V menu, where you can access Roger's inventory and the various game options.
Gameplay
When the game starts, one of your first tasks will be to pass a written exam for StarCon. This illustrates well how the game is played: you must wait for the anti-cheating android to look the other way while you glance at someone else's test. Illustrating both the timing and the kind of tasks you can expect from the rest of the game, the test should give you a feel for what you'll be doing for the rest of the game.
Tip: Saving
Save early and often. It's very easy to get a "game over" in the Space Quest series.
Tip: Cameo
Head down to the pod bay and open the locker on the far left to see the hero of the hit arcade game, Astro Chicken.
