Controls
You control Roger Wilco's body movements using the arrow keys on your keyboard. Press the buttons once to start him moving in any direction. Press that same button again to make him stop. To access the menu, press ESC.
Commands
Most of Roger Wilco's actions are controlled using typed commands that combine a verb and a noun. To work these commands, move Roger close to the object with which you wish him to interact, then type in what you want Roger to do.
Tip: Sample Commands
The text commands take a bit of getting used to, so here's an example: as the game begins, you will guide Roger through the locker room of a space station. To change Roger out of his space suit, move him near the clothes on the wall and type CHANGE CLOTHES. To take things out of his locker, move him to the locker. Type OPEN LOCKER, then type LOOK IN LOCKER. Next, type TAKE and list the object you wish to remove.
Tip: Try Anything
The worlds of Space Quest are surprisingly intricate as long as you know how to interact with them. Have Roger talk to everyone he sees, press buttons, and pick up objects -- you never know what might happen.
