Tip: Scoring
You can beat Space Quest without solving every puzzle and earning a perfect score. For example, shortly after boarding the Sarien battle cruiser, you will pass a green alien guard with whom you must speak. For extra credit, once you have spoken with said guard, type "Kiss Guard" and you will earn a few points.
Basics
You move Roger Wilco's using the arrow keys on your keyboard. Press the buttons once to start him moving in any direction. Press that same button again to make him stop.
Menu
Roger does not jump, fight, or swim, so you won't have to worry about complex controls. There is a menu along the top of the screen, however: to pause the game and access this menu, simply hit your ESC button.
Commands
Most of Roger Wilco's actions are controlled by typing commands that combine a verb and a noun. To work these commands, move Roger close to the object with which you wish him to interact. Should you want him to search a body, move him in front of the body and type "Search Body." A window will appear on the screen announcing the results.
Interactive world
The worlds of Space Quest are surprisingly interactive, and you may be surprised to see how many different commands the game understands. Have Roger talk to everyone he sees, press buttons, and pick up objects. And remember, space travel is dangerous, so always remember to buckle up.
Tip: Be Specific
You can lead Roger to water; but in order to make him drink, you must be specific. For instance, in the opening sequence on the space ship Arcada, finding the keycard on the body of a scientist is not enough. You must also tell Roger to "Take Keycard" or he will leave it behind.
