Controls
Use the directional pad to move your characters around the screen. To shoot, press the fire button. For melee attacks, press the fire button while standing next to an enemy. Press the dodge button in conjunction with the d-pad to perform an evasive roll. Fire off your character's special attack with the special button. Finally, the Swap button will swap out your characters while playing in Team Battle mode.
Goals
Shock Troopers is all about shooting as many bad guys as possible as you work your way through each action-packed level. You can do so either in a single- or multi-player setup. Choose one of three different mission routes, which really only affect the areas you'll be fighting in during the game. Once that's done, it's time to lock and load.
Game Modes
Shock Troopers comes complete with two different game modes. Lonely Wolf and Team Battle. In Lonely Wolf, you play as a single character with a good amount of special attacks at your command. Team Battle tasks you with taking three characters into battle at once, though you can only control one at a time. To swap between characters (should one get injured) just press the Swap button. You start with fewer special attacks per character in Team Battle mode.
Tip: Strafing
If you hold down the fire button, you can walk in any direction while your character continues to face in the original direction they were firing.
Tip: Melee Attacks
Melee attacks generally result in your enemy dropping a power-up of some sort. These could be life power-ups or even better weapons, so use this technique whenever you have a chance.
