This game is compatible with 64-bit Windows OS
There are 12 tanks in each squadron. A single hit from your cannon will destroy a tank, and a tank icon will appear on your display for each one you take out. For each squadron destroyed, an icon with the number 12 appears. You receive a bonus tank for each squadron you defeat, and win the game when you defeat all 12 squadrons.
Control your robot tank with the direction keys -- forward accelerates, back slows down, and left and right control your lateral movement. Aim your turret and fire explosive shells at the enemy tanks with the fire button. You can steer these “smart shells” in mid-flight, following the path of your crosshairs. Use this to your advantage, steering shells into enemy tanks at an angle rather than facing them head on.
Refer to the radar at the bottom of the screen for data on enemy movement. You’ll face a single robot tank at a time. Also watch the military clock at the top of the display. Robot Tank has an accurate day and night cycle, with bright afternoon slowly fading into twilight and finally darkness, followed by a pink sunrise around 5:00 am. You'll also face various weather conditions -- including fog, snow and rain -- that will greatly affect your ability to do battle.
Should your tank take damage, one of the four letter icons on either side of your radar display will flash, indicating damage to a tank subsystem. Damage to the Video system, represented by a “V,” will cause your primary display to intermittently flicker. The Treads are damaged, indicated by a “T,” your tank to slow to a crawl, especially in rain or snow. Damage to the Cannon system, the “C,” means that from time to time your fire commands will be ignored. Finally, a flashing “R” indicates damage to the Radar system, meaning you must depend on a visual fix to plot your enemy’s location.
Enemy tanks will only fire when they’re in front of you, so if you’d prefer not to engage a tank, stay ahead of it.
One trick that this game’s true masters excel at is the ability to shoot down incoming shells. It's a tough shot and a dangerous move, but it can protect you from serious damage if you’re successful.
Visibility, naturally, is reduced in the dead of night -- something that will cause more trouble for you than for the enemy tanks.
Keep your crosshairs steady, or you'll miss your shot!
