Controls
Move your boxer left and right by pressing let and right. To weave, press up. To duck, press down. To guard high, press diagonally left and up. To guard low, press diagonally down and left, To throw a standard punch, hold fire and press up. To execute an uppercut, hold fire and press diagonally up and right. For a hard-hitting body blow, hold fire and press down.
Basics
The objective of Pro Boxing Simulator is simple: defeat each of your opponents by any means necessary, even if it means cheating when the ref’s looking the other way. Each fight can last up to 15 rounds and victory is yours if get the most points or score five knockdowns.
Status
Useful information, such as your stamina, amount of lives you have left, the current round number and the amount of time remaining can be found on the game screen. In addition, the fighter’s silhouettes along the top of the screen will change color depending on the awareness of the referee. If the silhouettes are red, the ref is watching like a hawk. If they are orange, you have a good chance of not being seen. If they are green, cheat away!
Tricks
In addition to standard punches, you can pull off a series of devious attacks when the ref turns the other way or dozes off. To head butt your opponent, press diagonally up and right. To throw a below-the-belt duck punch, press diagonally right and down. To kick, hold down fire and press right. Finally, for a paralyzing groin punch, hold down fire and press diagonally right and down.
Tip: Grappling
If you get too close to your opponent, you will automatically grab him and enter into a hold position, crossing over to the other side of the ring and swapping positions. If you continue to abuse this move, the ref will disqualify you and you will lose a life.
Tip: Cheating
Cheating is not only recommended, it’s necessary for some of the tougher opponents. Keep an eye on your boxer’s silhouette and only attempt a dirty move if the ref is looking the other way. If you get caught three times, you will be disqualified and lose a life.
