Gameplay
Your job is to clear all enemy defenses from each planet. These defenses will range from simple missile bases that become satellites during planetary rotation to master bases that sense your cursor movements and protect themselves by changing the planets rotation. Once you have destroyed all enemy weaponry, you move to the next planet.
Basics
You have four fighter craft, one stationed in each corner of the screen. To shoot, aim by moving the cursor around the screen with your direction pad, then hit the FIRE button. All four ships will shoot at once.
Shields
Your ships have a four-layered retractable force field that resists most attacks. Press the SHIELD button when you want to use your shields. Remember, when one of your ships is hit, all of your ships will lose one layer of their shields.
Tip: Starballs
Starballs (red balls) temporarily slow down when shot, then speed up. It takes four shots to destroy a starball.
Tip: Killer Saucers
The first four planets have “killer saucers” that pack a “death ray.” The death ray is instant death, not even shields will block it. Kill saucers as soon as you see them.
Tip: Fireballs
Fireballs (the red and yellow balls) only slow down when your fighters first shoot them. It takes four shots to destroy a fireball.
