Basics
King's Quest V is entirely mouse driven. Use the right button to progress through a group of icons (talk, interact, walk, look, and an item) and the left mouse button to activate it. For example, to examine something, right-click until you see the look icon and left-click on whatever you want to look at. Pass the mouse pointer over the top of the screen to access the game's menu, where you can do all the basic commands, as well as access Graham's satchel (inventory), and the game settings.
Gameplay
To complete Graham's quest and restore the kingdom of Daventry to its former glory (complete with castle and royal family), you'll need to help plenty of people and solve dozens of puzzles on the way. Graham can carry many items with him in his pack; experiment with them to see if one of them is the key you need to pass a tough spot.
Tip: Score
While there are 260 total points to score in King's Quest V, doing so won't earn you a special ending or anything like that. It's possible to finish the game without attaining the maximum score.
Tip: Saving
Save early and often. You will probably miss important items and clues the first time through, so keep a few different save files handy in case you need to back up and explore a bit more before you hit a dead end.
