Gameplay
Fisherman one is on the left, fisherman two (or the computer-controlled player) is on the right. Cast your line (by pressing down) and get the end of it as close to the mouths of the fish as possible. When you've got a bite, the fish will wriggle frantically about as you reel him in -- which is automatic. If you'd like to speed up the process, you can press the action button.
Scoring and the Shark
The deeper you cast your line, the more points (pounds) you can earn. Fish in the bottom two rows will net you six points apiece. Those in the middle two rows are worth four, and the top two rows are worth two. Avoid the shark! If the fish you catch touches any point on the shark's body, he'll snap it up, robbing you of your hard-earned points. Just like a real predator, the shark's movement is unpredictable, so stay alert.
Tip: Shark Bait
Sure, the fish at the bottom are worth more, but they're also prime targets for the shark. So consider a quantity-over-quality approach if the shark keeps giving you trouble.

Remember that only one side can reel in at a time.
