Goal
The objective of Enduro is simple: you're given an allotment of cars that you must pass each day. You have to get by 200 in the first day, and 300 every day after that. That's it. If you manage to pass your allotment in 24 hours, you can keep racing. Fail, and you're eliminated -- just another has-been on the shoulder of the road. When the sun begins to rise, you'll grind your teeth into powder trying to pass those last few cars in time.
Moves
To start the game, hit reset. The race is on! Now press and hold the fire button to accelerate to maximum speed, steering with the left and right direction keys. Obviously you want to pass cars, not crash into them -- a collision will cost you precious time when you have little to spare. Furthermore, the delay will mean you're passed by other racers, which add to the total number of cars you must pass by daybreak. If the sun comes up and you haven't reached your allotment, the game is over.
Gameplay
The road and other cars diminish realistically into the distance, growing larger as you approach them. At night, you need to rely on the glowing taillights of cars ahead to know when to pass. Meanwhile, inclement weather affects not only your visibility, but the handling of your vehicle as well. All the other drivers are also affected by darkness or bad weather, and will usually slow down or take precautions.
Gauges
Keep an eye on the gauges at the bottom of the screen. The one that's quickly spinning is your odometer. Below that is the number of cars remaining in your allotment, which will increase if you're passed and decrease if you pass other vehicles. When you've achieved your goal for the day, the number is replaced by green flags.
Tip: Wide Turns
Stay on the outside of sharp curves -- because of the way things recede into the distance in Enduro, you'll be able to see a little farther if you're on the outside of the curve than if you're on the inside.
Tip: Shoulder Tackle
In fact, it's best to keep hard to one side of the road or the other even on the straightaways -- plenty of cars come straight down the middle, so they're freebies. All you have to worry about are the ones on the edges.
Tip: Traffic Patterns
Cars tend to come in groups, so dodging among them requires precision. Remember you don't need to keep your foot on the gas all the time - it's how many cars you pass that matters, not how far you get. Coast every now and then to get around the complex patterns.

Take advantage of the darkness. At first it's scary, and you'll think night driving is harder. Not true. Those taillights are a lot easier to see way out in the distance.

If you pass your allotment early and have time left before the next day, take a little while to relax. You can’t get a head start on the next day's cars, and there's no reason to blaze past any more -- once you've passed your requirement, you're cleared to race the next day no matter what.
