Controls
One or two players (taking turns) can play Black Widow. Controlling your eight-legged friend is quite simple; you have two different controls for moving and shooting. Your right hand controls the direction of your web blaster, while your left hand takes care of your spider's movement. It's a setup similar to that of another arcade classic, Robotron 2084. The benefit is that you can move in one direction while shooting in another.
Goals
Your goal in each wave is to defeat as many enemies as possible, collecting their carcasses that they leave behind for points. Some bugs just want to kill you, but others hang around the web waiting to turn your freshly shot prey into eggs that can hatch and attack you. Grab the eggs and push them off the web before they spring to life. While most enemies can be destroyed in a single blast, the biggest bugs are invulnerable, so your only course of action is to avoid them. Good luck, young spider!
Tip: Eggs
Make destroying eggs a priority. Besides being worth a lot of points, the enemies that they hatch can be difficult to deal with. Push them off the web!
Tip: Red Threads
Remember that red threads act as a one-way barrier. You can cross from the outside, but not the inside. Always have an escape route.
Tip: Grenade Bugs
Whack the grenade bugs from a distance. Those nasty buggers blow up when you shoot them, destroying everything nearby.
