You ever notice how being the Earth's last hope is never easy? There's almost always a huge alien force amassed against you, and Beamrider is no different. This time, you're limited to "riding" one of five vertical beams, and engaging your adversaries. However, Beamrider is much more than another point-and-shoot action game. It was one of the first 3D shooters to come to market when it was released in 1984.
