Basics
As a U.S. or Japanese pilot, you accept air combat missions over the Pacific theater. You will be shown flight plans and given specific objectives before being sent into war, so carefully review your mission objectives before takeoff.
Gameplay
Aces of the Pacific is no arcade game, this is a simulation. Each plane controls differently, and the cockpits and control panels will change to reflect this. World War II pilots often flew long routes before reaching their objectives, and so will you. You must pay careful attention to your flight route and you must stay alert for enemy planes at all times.
Combat
Every plane in Aces of the Pacific has different strengths and abilities. Fly single missions to get the feel of the different planes. Some planes take more damage. Some planes turn faster. Some planes were designed to attack ships and make easy targets in a dogfight.
Tip: Quick Trip
While Aces of the Pacific includes some scramble missions, you will need to fly to reach the objectives for most of your missions. If you enjoy a wide, blue horizon, by all means sit back and enjoy the ride. If, however, you wish to get to the action, press the F10 key on your keyboard to accelerate time.
Tip: They Only Look Invincible
Ships do not show damage when hit. Keep an eye on your on-screen messaging when running dive-bombing missions. You will get a message telling you if you have hit your target.
